「AIとクリエイターの戦い」は、始まったばかり。
脳よだれ展の「あとがき」なんですが、さすがに今、
「生成AI」に触れないわけにはいかないな、と。
「脳がよだれを垂らしそうな写真」というプロンプトを画像生成AIに打ち込んだところ、
「つまらない」「説明的な」画像が送られてきました。
「脳がよだれを垂らす」というレトリックからして、画像生成AIは、まだ理解できないわけです。
今度は会話AIに、「脳がよだれを垂らす」を解釈させると、
「『脳がよだれを垂らすような写真』とは、欲望を刺激する写真ということで、
脳の満足感を引き出すもの、と考えます。」とのこと。わかってらっしゃる。
じゃあ、例えばどんな画像なの?と問うと、会話AIから送られてきたのは、
やっぱり「つまらない」「普通な」ものばかり。
わかってるけど、できない。ただしそれは、今のところ、だ。
気持ちいい。美しい。エモい。エロい。こわい。おもろい。食べたい。触りたい。
人間の脳は、何を見たら、どんな感情を持つのか?欲望を掻き立てる、とはいったい何なのか?
AIはきっと、いずれそれを学ぶ。
クリエイターが、過去の経験則だけで仕事をしていたら、もはやAIに勝てない。
自分だけの。 見たことのない。新しい共感を生む。説明不能な。
そんなことを武器に、つくり続けるしか方法はない。
大変な時代になったわけだけど、AIとクリエイターの戦いは、始まったばかり。

The battle between Al and creators has just begun.
I can’t help but mention “generative Al” in our postscript for
the “BRAIN DROOL 2023” exhibition.
I asked an image-generating Al to give me “images that make my brain drool”,
and it created rather boring and obvious images. It seems like the concept of
“brain drooling” is still incomprehensible to the image-generating Al.
Then I asked the Al to define “brain drooling photo”; and it said that a
“brain drooling photo” is a photo that stimulates desire and elicits brain gratification.
It is right. It knows what I mean.
Then I asked the Al to show me some examples, and it again
showed me rather boring or ordinary images. It understands what
I want but it can’t generate the images I want, at least for now.
Pleasant. Beautiful. Emotional. Erotic. Scary. Funny. I want to eat it. I want to touch it.
To what does the human brain respond? How does the human brain respond?
What does it mean when something arouses our desire? Al will surely learn it eventually.
If we do our job based only on past experience, we will no longer be able to compete with Al. Unique. The unseen. Create new empathy. Unexplainable.
Only with these qualities as weapons can we keep on creating.
We are in a difficult era, and the battle between Al and creators has just begun.
