2004: Joined Hakuhodo Photo Creative (currently Hakuhodo Product's)
Along the Nile River in Egypt,
the bones of animals buried by humans
5,000 years ago were discovered.
This find shows that humans have adored
and lived with animals since back then.
From the relationship between humans
and animals and our history together was
born the culture of taxidermy.
Is it a new expression of love that human knowledge and technology have created?

生きていた頃の動物たちが、
剥製になった今の姿を見たら
どう思うんでしょうか。
もっと威厳のある目をしているはずだとか、
こんなに楽しげに生きてこなかったとか。
僕にはわかりませんが、
多分、いろいろ言いたいことが
あるだろうと思います。

What would a once living,
breathing animal think if it saw itself
stuffed and mounted?
Would it think the eyes should look
more majestic or that life was not as joyful as its artificial, stuffed pose seems to indicate?
I bet it would have a lot to say.

エジプトのナイル河付近で
5000年前に人間の手によって埋葬された
動物の骨が発見されている。
これは当時から人間が動物に愛情を注ぎ、
共に生活していたことを証明している。
人間と動物の関係と歴史。
その中から生まれた剥製という一つの文化。
これは人間の知恵と技術が生みだした
新しい愛の表現なのか。
