Shiny, curvy soap bubbles.
We can only do something simple with small bubbles. Maybe we can manipulate if it is giant.
We gave it a shot.
They split instantly.
It was harder to control them
than we expected.
We managed to adjust their formulation,
then they lasted longer.
We employed various tools and started
making complex shapes.
The trial and error continued forever.
Shiny, perhaps even pretty.
Unbelievable shapes, from the realm of the God.
The world-first soap bubbles, I got shot at 1/1000s.

人間の快楽の多くは非常に刹那的です。
しかし、その瞬間しか感じることの
できないものだからこそ、
人を陶酔させる甘美な魅力が
そこには生まれるのだと思います。
この作品では、人間の欲望の姿を
妖艶に膨らんでは、消えていく、
シャボン玉に重ねて表現しようと考えました。
肉眼では確認できない
1/1000秒の世界に切りとられた、
一瞬の官能美を感じていただければ幸いです。

Most of human pleasure is very transient.
However, because we can only feel these pleasures in that instant,
I think that’s when the sweet allure which intoxicates people is born.
Our idea with these works was to try
and express human desire
with soap bubbles that expand voluptuously, then disappear.
We captured a 1/1000 second, an instant
that is imperceptive to the naked eye.
I hope people get a feel for the beauty of momentary sensations.

シャボン玉の艶っぽさと曲線美。
小さなシャボン玉では
単純なことしかできない。
巨大なシャボン玉なら操ることができるかも。
実際にやってみた。
すぐ割れる。想像以上にコントロールできない。
配合を調整して長持ちするようになった。
道具を色々変えて複雑な形状が生まれ始めた。
試行錯誤が永遠に続く。
艶っぽい、綺麗かも。
ありえない造形、神の領域。
世界初のシャボン玉。
1/1000sで撮ってしまった。
